Baran Gündüzalp graduated from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Anadolu University in Eskisehir. His work in advertising, graphic design, photography, and short films has received numerous national and international awards, including Cannes Lions, London International Awards, and Hürriyet Kırmızı, along with various screenings and exhibitions. In 2008, he won first prize in a competition organized by Jameson Irish Whiskey and was invited to the Dublin Film Festival. Between 2008 and 2018, his short films were screened at some of Turkey’s most prominent festivals. In 2020, he received first-feature support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture for his project Rosinante. Rosinante had its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2023 and later won the Best Screenplay award at the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival in Algeria, where Nuri Bilge Ceylan served as jury president. The same year, the film won Best Film at the Ischia Film Festival in Italy and Best Director at the Baku International Film Festival. His debut feature Rosinante premiered across 19 countries on 4 continents and received 8 international awards. Gündüzalp is currently working on the development of his second feature-length film.
