Actor, director, playwright and theater teacher.  He studied Acting and Theater Pedagogy at the Dramatic Art School of Trujillo and the National School of Dramatic Art of Lima. He has had various stage experiences with different groups and directors such as Chavdar Krestev, acting master's teacher at the Sophia Theater School, Bulgaria; with notable Peruvian directors and playwrights such as Alonso Alegría; Alfonso Santistevan; José Carlos Urteaga; Sergio Arrau; Sara Joffré; Fausto Carrillo (acting teacher at the Barcelona Theater Institute) and others. Author and director of the play "Strangers", presented within the framework of the Peruvian North American Cultural Institute festival; Later in this festival he also participated with his work "Scene Study". In the Cultural Center of the French Alliance he premieres his work “Just tell me the truth.” He has published the book “Nine Short Pieces” and some works in theater magazines and anthologies. He has been invited to Romania by Iti Unesco Chair to the world meeting of theater schools representing the National School of Dramatic Arts with a scenic creation around William Shakespeare's text "Romeo and Juliet". He is awarded by the Iberescena performing arts support fund with the drama creation of the text "La sala 14". At the cultural center “The Night” of Barranco, his work “Quixote” receives an award. In the regional theater exhibition his work “The Last Function” takes first place. At the España cultural center he received an award for “Aid for the performing arts” for the creation of a play “Betrayal” that was invited to participate in the Barba Jacobs theater festival in Medellín, Colombia. He has participated as an actor in several theater productions and some short films. The last show he directed, “The Third Person,” a work of his own, has been well regarded by critics. He is professor of acting and drama at the National School of Dramatic Art and has also taught at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the Northern Private University, Trujillo - Perú.  [Source: OCASO TEATRO.]

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
