Natasha grew up from the age of eight as an expat in Dubai. She had a very musical upbringing, learning the flute and the piano to a high standard and had classical vocal training throughout her teenage years. Having fallen in love with musicals at a London performance of The Phantom of the Opera when she was fourteen, she decided she simply had to pursue a career on the stage. At eighteen, she won a place to train for three years in Musical Theatre at The Arts Educational Schools, London (ArtsEd). She has since performed all over the country and internationally in a variety of high profile venues for all types of event including as a soloist in concert with The British Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Michael Ball's Musical Director, Callum McLeod.  Event venues include: Theatre Royal, Drury Lane; Opera Holland Park; Windsor Castle; Swansea Grand Theatre; Congress Theatre, Cwmbran; The O2; The Hilton Park Lane; The Haymarket Hotel; The Grove Hotel; Luton Hoo Hotel; Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds; Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street Gardens; Nottingham Castle; Lillian Bayliss, Sadler's Wells; The Mint Room, Bath; Water Rats Theatre, Kings Cross; Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi (for the U.A.E. Royal Family); Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai; The Capital Club, Dubai; Hard Rock CafĂ©, Dubai; Raamegarde, Norway for shipping billionaire, Petter Olsen and many more.  Natasha was narrowed down out of thousands of hopefuls to reach the last 100 in all of the UK for the BBC reality TV search for the role of Maria in 'The Sound of Music' created by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and hosted by Graham Norton.  Theatre includes: Ensemble in Love Never Dies concerts 2023 at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane; Rosalind/Soloist (u.s. Juliet) in Romeo and Juliet opposite Sean Brosnan; Cobweb and Peaseblossom (u.s. Helena) in 2 different productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream alongside ex Royal Ballet dancer, Wayne Sleep; Classical Soloist (u.s. Ophelia) in Hamlet; Curtis in The Taming of the Shrew; Audrey in As You Like It - all for The British Shakespeare Company on tour and in the West End over several seasons; Principal Soloist in From Broadway to Hollywood orchestral West End Gala, Sotogrande, Spain; Grace in Club Burlesque (fringe) The title role in The Little Mermaid, Belle in Beauty and the Beast and Maria in West Side Story in the UAE.  Film includes: Control, starring Kevin Spacey (Feature) City of Life (Feature); A to Z (Short) and Pandora (Short)

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
