Bernard Merrymel Joseph (born December 12 , 1999) is an Malayalam film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer and actor. In the early he was an independent filmmaker whose films used nonlinear storylines and aestheticization of violence. His films have earned him a variety of Awards .  Born in Pathanamthitta , Kerala Bernard was interested in filmmaking at an early age. He directed numerous music videos and short films.  He made his film debut with The Last Chapter (2017), which garnered mixed reviews, followed by the Triangle (2019) . Bernard found lukewarm success with EMO (2021) and Sumathy Valav (2022), but the latter eventually became a cult classic which was better received.  As a filmmaker, he passionate about creating visually stunning and emotionally engaging stories that captivate audiences. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the art of storytelling, he strived to bring unique and authentic perspectives to the screen.  His journey in filmmaking began at a young age, where he fell in love with the magic of cinema and the power it had to transport him to other worlds. This passion led him to pursue a degree in film production, where he honed his craft and gained practical experience working on a variety of film projects.  Since then, he had worked on numerous film productions, ranging from short films and documentaries to feature-length movies. He adept at every stage of the filmmaking process, from concept development and scriptwriting to casting, directing, and post-production.  His filmmaking style is characterized by its attention to detail, creative vision, and a deep respect for the art form. He constantly exploring new techniques and technologies to push the boundaries of what is possible in cinema, and He always looking for ways to challenge himself creatively and professionally.  Ultimately, his goal as a filmmaker is to use the power of storytelling to connect with audiences on a deep and emotional level, and to inspire them to see the world in a new and meaningful way.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
