A work in constant progress (and occasional regress).
Fred Khasigian was named to the Dean’s List six times and received the Football Alumni Club Award as the senior with the highest GPA. He also earned Academic All-America honors in 1969. A two-time First Team All-Pac-8 selection, Khasigian helped the USC Trojans to a 29-2-2 record, three conference titles, two Rose Bowl victories and a National Championship in 1967 under College Football Hall of Fame head coach John McKay. He earned his medical degree from USC in 1974 and his MBA at California State University-Sacramento in 2003. Khasigian played rugby while at USC and went on to play at the Santa Monica Rugby Club from 1970-76 and the Sacramento Men’s Club from 19-1996. He won the Rugby Club National Championship with Santa Monica. Khasigian is now the director and head coach of the Jesuit High School (Calif.) Rugby Program. He began the program in 1997 and has grown it into a National powerhouse, with more than 140 boys participating in two different leagues at the Varsity and JV levels. He has led the Marauder teams to seven National High School Championships in 1999, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
