Justin Anthony Long is an award winning writer, songwriter, and performer. Whether doing triple duty or working with collaborators, inclusion, diversity, and Queer joy are paramount to his work. His musical multi-cam sitcom pilot was a Finalist at the 2023 Raindance Film Festival in London and his debut pop song, “Gone Forgotten Year,” was an Official Selection of the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. Justin’s short musicals, Cookie Soirée, Mission to the Moon, and Big Ass Secret are available to license from Music Theatre International & Theatre Now. His musical theatre and comedy screenwriting work was selected by Stephen Schwartz for the prestigious ASCAP/DreamWorks Musical Theatre Workshop at the Wallis Annenberg Center, is a two time Best Musical Audience Choice Award Winner at the NYC Sound Bites Festival, Finalist for the 2023 Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, was featured in the NY Times, USA Today, and IndieWire and won LiveReadLA. Justin enjoys writing solo and with collaborators. Some collaborators include Jonny Lee Jr., Ge Enrique, Joanna Burns, Joël René Scoville, Ari Frenkel, and Noah Prizant. ​  Onstage, Justin has performed at CTG’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, La Mirada Theatre, 3-D Theatricals, For the Record, The Maltz Jupiter, Transcendence, and the Upright Citizens Brigade. On screen, Justin has appeared in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, the indie film Pluto, and the musical web comedy, City of Dreams. He is a member of ASCAP, The Dramatists Guild, and Actors’ Equity Association

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
