Arabella Grant

Arabella Claire Grant is an American child actress. She began acting professionally at the age of 5 after booking her first ever audition, playing the role of Amy, daughter of Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter) and Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer), on the NBC show Timeless (2018).  An early and avid reader, Arabella loves books and taught herself to read before she was 2 years old. She became one of the youngest females ever invited to join Mensa at age 4, after scoring in the Genius IQ range on a school entrance test. Reading is still one of her favorite activities.  After filming Timeless, Arabella soon made her return to TV playing Lily on the Netflix show Fuller House, acting alongside the original Full House cast, Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin. She was directed by Dave Coulier who, upon watching her perform, proclaimed her a "little Shirley Temple".  Arabella's natural charm and extraordinary intelligence caught the attention of the producers of NBC's show Little Big Shots; Ellen DeGeneres and Melissa McCarthy. After they saw a YouTube video of her extensive geography knowledge, she was invited to appear on the show and filmed her own segment in January of 2020. Arabella charmed the hearts of millions of viewers with her funny and adorable personality during her interview with Melissa McCarthy, and then shocked everyone when she showcased her photographic memory in a game where she identified multiple states, countries and their capitals simply by seeing their outline.  Arabella recently joined the cast of the upcoming feature film "To Leslie", acting alongside an award winning cast including Allison Janney, Andrea Riseborough and Marc Maron, which will be premiering at SXSW in 2022. She can also soon be seen playing the role of Franny in Season 2 of the critically acclaimed show, The Flight Attendant, on HBO Max. As well as a recurring role in the upcoming show, The Idol, also on HBO Max.  Arabella is a vegetarian with a huge heart and passion for animals and the environment. She loves science, geography, and reading. In her free time she enjoys swimming, singing, dancing, and writing and illustrating her own stories and graphic novels. Arabella lives with her parents and 4 siblings in Southern California.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
