Thomas A. Rusley began his career as a actor in 2019 staring in the Miami movie called "Murder Gardens" as a co-star playing the role as a big brother name "Rell" who was forced to grow up in the streets due to the death of his mother, who was killed in a robbery when him and his little brother "Chase" was younger. The story goes on to tell how "Rell" and "Chase" reunite after being raised in foster care only having one another to look out for, and how they survive in the treacherous streets of Miami. Thomas A. Rusley connected very well with this role because of his past experiences growing up in Miami, FL. He was raised by a single mother name, Joann Rusley who gave birth to him at the age of 16, raised in Opa Locka, FL. Thomas A. Rusley witness a lot of violence growing up in Opa Locka especially after losing his father Thomas Jackson who was murdered by the police in his front yard while washing his Cadillac. The police officer shot him in the head killing him on the spot, and when he was questioned by investigators why he shot him. The officer said, " From the reflection of the sun on his ring it look like he had a gun". Thomas Jackson didn't have any weapons in his hand or in his vehicle, and the officer never got suspended or fired for his wrongful actions. This death really did something to Thomas A. Rusley because he was the only child from his father and they had a unbreakable bond. Thomas A. Rusley and his mother was never compensated for the death of his father by law enforcement or the government, but was threatened with anonymous phone calls to not try an suit or else... Thomas A. Rusley mother moved out of Opa Locka to Carol City in fear for her and her sons life. Thomas went to Norland Senior High school and started playing football and had dreams of making it to the NFL. He later transferred to Tallahassee, FL for a better opportunity of pursuing his dream in football at James S. Rickards High. Thomas received a football scholarship to college in West Virginia as a Free Safety, but his football career came to a end his junior year in college due to a severe ankle injury. He ended up moving back to Miami, FL devastated from his dream of becoming a NFL player coming to an end. He turned to the only place he knew best. "The streets", here is where Thomas learned his morals and the code to live by in the streets of Miami. A life no man should ever choose, because it taught him the hard way after he got shot on 183st and 27ave one morning getting his car serviced at a Jiffy Lube. That there are only two ways out of the street life, and they are either going jail or ending up in someone's graveyard. Thomas knew then it was time for a change after surviving and having a near death experience. He made a change for the better and built a strong relationship with GOD.
Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
