Isaias Badilla is an actor and filmmaker. Born and raised in Costa Rica, Isaias grew up surrounded by the magic of cinema, thanks to his two older brothers who instilled in him a deep appreciation for the art form. After 5 years of classical music training, his journey took an exciting turn when he joined the Taller Nacional de Teatro in Costa Rica. In 2018, Isaias made a bold move, crossing borders to pursue his dreams in the United States. He completed his senior year and embarked on a transformative experience at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts NY in 2019. Isaias’ talent shines on both the big screen and the stage. Some of his acting work has been seen in over twenty different film festivals worldwide. Notably, he starred in the short film “Ñaños,” which received official selection at the 2022 Tribeca Festival. His New York and International Theater credits have demonstrated his versatility in roles such as Connor Murphy in Querido Evan (Dear Evan Hansen), Jonathan Baransky in the Off-Broadway revival of “Dream On, Baransky”, Sebastian in “Danse Macabre”, Aisymnetes in “Raving Reason”, Alfonso LeChien in “The Gnarly Narwhal”, Miguel in “The Window Washer”, and even the multifaceted Marcellus/Guildenstern/Osric in “Hamlet”. In 2024, Isaias and his brothers took their passion to the next level by founding Purple Duck LLC. This independent film production company seeks to explore and challenge the boundaries of cinema through the power of creativity and storytelling.

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
