Thekla Hutyrova

Alias:
Thekla Hutyra

Stunt stunts or superhero battles—that's the life of young Thekla Hutyrová, who lives in California but has her roots in Prague. Thekla is a Hollywood actress and stunt double. She worked on films such as Logan: Wolverine, Alita: Battle Angel, and the well-known Marvel movie Deadpool 2.  Born in Seattle and grew up in Arizona from the age of two, from childhood, she was a completely different girl from her peers—she was always closer to boys' activities.  She started taekwondo at the age of 11 and won two black belts at the ages of 15 and 17. Later, she started practicing sports karate and XMA (extreme martial arts), in which she managed to win two world titles.  In high school, she felt the desire to be an actress for the first time. She decided to continue her studies at university but did not choose acting. Following the example of her mother, who is a doctor, she preferred the medical field—psychology. However, she continued to practice martial arts as an adult, practicing sports such as jujutsu and boxing.  Thekla landed her first Hollywood role while attending a martial arts school owned by Michael Chaturantabut, also known as Mike Chat, who played one of the Power Rangers.  The first stunt role she got at the age of 23 was for the movie Logan: Wolverine.  She also collaborated on the popular Marvel movie Deadpool 2 and also worked on other films and series. Among the most famous ones in Slovakia is, for example, the film Bl<0xC6><0x9B>enec (originally Gemini Man) with Will Smith.  As a professional doubler, she teaches her fighting skills and tricks in her spare time to other doublers or directly to film and TV series actors who are interested in it.  Although she has a successful career as a film double, she plans to venture into another industry as well. "I am currently studying business. I want to start my own clothing brand. It should be more natural and sustainable for the planet. I hope that I will succeed in 2022," she revealed.  Hollywood glitter has its charm, but Thekla is tempted to taste life in Slovakia for some time.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
