Sohan Thakur was born on 28th of January in a simple family of Darbhanga, Bihar. He has done casting for popular shows like As a casting director for: Agle janam Mohe bitiya hi kijo, Hindi Hai hum Mata ki chowki, Ganga keeDheej, wanted, Looteri dulhan, Kairi and Pratigya. He has also done Celebrity management for shows like Kitchen champion (all seasons), Guinness book of world records, Malika-e-kitchen  Early career:  Started in Delhi as a low-level production manager job for a show called "School days". It was a phenomenal hit on DD National channel and the experience that he got there plays a major role in his foundation as a creative person. It was the year 1999… Television industry was not as big as it is today, but it definitely had its own signature stamp.. and he has played a key part in the slow and steady growth ever since, where he has also grown.  It was followed by "Rishtey" on Zee, "We love you" on DD Metro, "India's Most Wanted" with the legendary Manoj Raghuvanshi, "Nishan" a celebrity talk show …  After he landed in Mumbai and joined Sankraman productions for the projects: "Chandan ka palna; Resham ki dori" … his job responsibilities included interaction with known artists, schedule their dates and smoothly execute the schedule as planned. The caravan moved on and on "Kumkum", "Kisi raah mein, kisi mod par", "Shagun", "Sonpari" "Kabhi khushi-kabhi dhoom" "Sabse bada rupaiya", "Kabhi haan-kabhi na" "Rihaaee" "Betiyaan-Apni ya Paraya Dhan" "Kaajal", "Salaam Zindagi", "Babul ka aangan chhoote na", "Sujata" … Films:  As a casting director, he has done the following projects for Zoom Telefilms:  Ummeed se Dugna, Hotel Park street, Coffee shop, Blockbuster, Love story, Teri deewani, Char Mulaqaate, Terrorist uncle, Do Pal  Production co-ordination of a full-fledged film "Agnipankh" …  Achievements:  Started a launch-pad for the talented lot: "STARWAYS" dealing in celebrity management and exclusive castings. He is the sole force behind the company and it is his brainchild that provides a platform to the most deserving talent.  Present status:  Working as Casting Head for flying turtle films 'life ok' show "Saavitri" and "Saavdhan India"  Working as casting head for Cinemantra 'colors' show "Sanskaar".

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
