Imran Tareen was born on December 21, 1978 in Quetta, Balochistan to an ethnic Pashtun Muslim family of Tareen tribe from Pishin District as (Imran Akhtar Tareen).  Obtained his (Primary and Junior High School) education from rural areas of Balochistan, then (Matriculation, College and University) from Quetta.  He is an Pakistani Film, Television, Web, Theater and Radio, actor (Artist) of Urdu and Pashto language, using classic "Method Acting" and an adopted technique inspired by seniors, he acts in all genres... Comedy, Action, Drama and Romance. Entrepreneur, Compere and Host for many National and Notable Live shows, also a Screenwriter.  Started his career in (1996) as a famous Radio Voice, from Radio Pakistan (PBC) and FM101 as Drama Artist, Compere, Rj and Dj.  Made his Television debut from Urdu drama serial "Wapsi" in (1997-1998) Produced by Pakistan Television Corporation, Quetta Center. Notable Urdu serials - Wapsi, Wapsi Ke Baad, Sipahi, Shakh, Shabgard, Sang Zaad, Jalta Samandar, Siskiyan, Gul Bashra, Kamand, Liary Express, Musafat, Aman, Aas, Nigehban., etc.  First Pashto debut drama serial was "Wanda" in (1999 - 2000) produced by Pakistan Television Corporation, Quetta Center.  Notable Pashto serials - Wanda, Tar Gul Nazak, Be Bangro Lasoona, Quetta, Station Au Tension, Morkai, Sarbaz, Wanda, Walwar, Chinar, Khapal Walk, Za Sok Yum., etc.  Worked as station and program manager of (Sachal/Hot FM 105) and (Chiltan FM 88) Quetta, radio stations.  Later on he made his Film debut with the commercially successful and critically acclaimed movie Abdullah: The Final Witness (2015) playing the protagonist, opposite Sajid Hasan, as CSP police officer.  He began to achieve success at the box office as an infiltrator, based on true events Revenge of the Worthless (2016) playing antagonist turned protagonist, opposite Firdaus Jamal, Iftikhar Qaiser, Maira Khan and Noor.  His hard work was noticed, securing first position in "Film Making" workshop under "American Film Showcase" (AFS) on "The Art of Cinematic Storytelling" by "USC School of Cinematic Arts" a program of "U.S. Embassy" (State Department) supporting partners "International Documentary Association" (IDA) and "Hunerkada" at Islamabad and Karachi, teachers were Academy Award winner director (Ted Braun) and Emmy Award winner (Marilyn Agrelo).  In 2018 attended first-ever (National Artist Convention) at PNCA "Pakistan National Council of Arts", on how to revive Pakistan Film industry and Film, along with Shaan Shahid, Firdaus Jamal, Jamal Shah, Mustafa Qureshi, Syed Noor, Qavi Khan, Babra Sharif, Usmaan Peerzada, Rubina Ashraf, Faisal Rehman and many other Notables.  Presently he's working on new projects for... Film, Television and Web.  In addition to his talents as an Actor "Imran Tareen" has simultaneously nurtured a voice-over artist, his baritone voice, which is used for narration and background commentary for Film, TV, Web and Documentaries.

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
