Matt LaBorde

Alias:
Matthew Laborde

Matt LaBorde is a British-born stunt performer and actor. Growing up near RAF Northolt in London, he began his journey in action sports as a youth, spending hours clay pigeon shooting and eventually becoming the head trapper at a gun club. Seeking an escape from the rough council estate environment, he later joined the military, where he excelled in national military skills and running competitions. That same discipline paved the way for his certification as a personal trainer—a role in which he honed his ability to connect across diverse backgrounds while conditioning actors and public clients alike.  LaBorde's entry into the stunt profession was marked by his rigorous qualification through the British Stunt Register, demonstrating mastery across six main disciplines: formation skydiving, gymnastics, fencing, trampolining, kickboxing, and swimming, as well as horse riding training. His varied skill set includes precision driving, martial arts, aerial work, firearms and weapon handling, rigging, water safety, and comedic acting—all underscored by formal training in disciplines ranging from kickboxing to industrial rope access.  Despite suffering a serious skydiving accident early in his career—which sidelined him for months and compelled him to rebuild financially and educationally—LaBorde pursued higher education vigorously. Having left school at the age of 14 without qualifications, he later earned a Public Relations HND, a degree in product design, and an MA in advertising. He is currently completing an MA in Comedy Writing for Film and TV at Falmouth University (2023–2025).  LaBorde has built an impressive portfolio in film and television. His film credits encompass high-profile blockbusters such as Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Black Adam, Extraction II, The Walking Dead, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Notably, he received award recognition for his contribution to Avengers: Endgame. He continued his relationship with Marvel Studios, doubling Tom Hiddleston's Loki for six episodes of Loki Season 1 (2021). LaBorde's multifaceted abilities and adaptability have earned him roles beyond stunts. He has performed as a fight coordinator, stunt coordinator, visual effects artist, and actor in productions like Keepsake, By Night's End, and Extraction II. Proficient across disciplines, he remains legally and HSE qualified.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
