Michael Giannantonio, a seasoned professional with a wide-ranging production background, has garnered over 50 prestigious awards for his exceptional contributions to the industry. Michael is a versatile professional with extensive experience in live and planned production across diverse fields, including live entertainment, theatrical and production lighting, cinematography, scriptwriting, development, broadcasting, financing, pre-production, production, post-production, marketing, and distribution. His current objectives include writing and directing globally appealing motion pictures and producing high-end television content.  Born on March 12, 1973, at K.I. Air Force Base in Michigan, USA, Michael’s early years hinted at his creative and leadership talents. From creating art and performing magic tricks in elementary school to launching his first band at the age of 14, his journey was marked by unwavering determination, making his professional debut as a musician at the age of 15. Michael later emerged as a world-renowned stage hypnotist and magician, touring the world and captivating audiences. Michael later ventured deeper into the entertainment industry, establishing a talent agency, consulting for feature films, producing professional video content, and securing feature film financing for Hollywood executives. In 2005, Michael transitioned from live shows to film and television, co-writing, producing, and directing his first award-winning short film, “The Devil Inside,” alongside lifelong friend John Voight. His success in the entertainment world led to a shift in focus.  In the current phase of his career, Michael serves as an executive producer, overseeing a diverse portfolio of projects. Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
