Born in Sofia, Vera Nemirova has been living in Germany since 1982 and made her debut at Oper Frankfurt in 2006/07 with this production of Tannhäuser. She returned to direct our wonderful new Ring (2010 - 2012) which has been captured on CD and DVD (OehmsClassics). She recently directed Otello at the 2013 George Enescu Festival in Bucharest and Lohengrin at Theater Basel. She graduated from the »Hanns Eisler« Hochschule für Music in Berlin and began her international career in 1998. Productions have included Un ballo in maschera at Theater Basel, Tommaso Traetta's Antigona at the Staatsoper in Berlin, Lulu at the Salzburg Festival, Pique Dame and Verdi's Macbeth at the Vienna State Opera, Peter Ruzicka's Celan in Bremen, La fanciulla del West at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Weber's Euryanthe and Verdi's Otello at the Semperoper in Dresden, La Bohème and Idomeneo at the Staatstheater in Mainz (2014 La Traviata), Rigoletto and Manfred Gurlitt's Wozzeck in Lucerne, Le nozze di Figaro at the Latvian National Opera in Riga, Gounod's Faust, Verdi's Macbeth and L'Elisir d'amore at Bonn Opera and Fidelio in Graz. She will direct a new production of Hèctor Parra's chamber opera Das geopferte Leben/The Sacrificed Life at Theater Freiburg in 2014. Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
