He starred in several TV commercials such as Sampoerna Hijau, Indovision and smartphone ads. Rangga also played in FTVs, such as Pejuang Cinta (Starvision) as a supporting cast and Main Api Sampai Mati (Starvision). His next film role was in the movie Aku Perempuan, directed by Robby Ertanto which premiered in JIFFest 2009. Aside from films, Rangga also dabbles in theater - playing in "Key Exchange" by Kevin Wade as Philip, "Dice and Cards" by Sam Henry Kass as Richie, "Soft Dude" by Joe Pintauro as Dude, "Bang-Bang You're Dead" by William Mastresimone, "Indian" by Tennessee Williams as John Grass. In 2010, this Art and Visual Communication Design graduate from Trisakti University got the role in the film 18+ (2010) directed by Nayato Fio Nuala, as Romi. In the same year, he acted in the Break Film & MNC-produced film Seribu Sujud, where he played as Eric. In the television movie "Susuk Barbie" directed by Rudi Aryanto, Rangga played as Gofar (supporting role) that is part of a series in 'SCTV' Sinema 20 Wajah Indonesia, produced by Gisela Citra Sinema production. Another FTV where Rangga had the lead role is Cinta Bukan Reality Show (Rapi Films) by director Peter Suryadi. Not satisfied with the given television jobs, he ventured for a more challenging role in 2010. His role as Bambang, a shuttle prostitute in the film 7 Hati 7 Cinta 7 Wanita (2010) catapulted his name and made him win the Best Newcomer Actor in Indonesian Movie Awards 2011. Then, he acted in Dilema (2011) as Kang Jaja, and Negeri 5 Menara (2012) as Ustad Thorik. In 2012, he played a gay character in the omnibus Sanubari Jakarta (2012), produced by Lola Amaria. This is his first leading role. In 2013, he acted in the film Rectoverso (2013) as Bayu, and Kisah 3 Titik (2013) as Jojo, a charming garment factory worker. In the latter film, he gets the chance to act alongside Lola Amaria, Ririn Ekawati, Lukman Sardi, and Donny Alamsyah.

About the Movie Section

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).

Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.
  • If you would like to correct movie data on this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's corrected on their site, it should soon be corrected on this site.
  • For additional corrections and profile removals, please e-mail The Open Movie Database (OMDb).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
