Bruno Deville, réalisateur d’origine belge, est diplômé de l'Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne. En 2000, il obtient avec son film de diplôme, "La bouée", le prix spécial du jury au Festival International de Locarno. Dès la sortie de ses études, il travaille comme assistant réalisation, ainsi qu'au casting de seconds rôles et à la mise en scène de figurants. Il collabore avec Alain Tanner, Benoît Mariage, Frédéric Shoendoerffer, ou encore Philippe Harel.  Parallèlement, il réalise des courts métrages, des créations pour les spectacles de Maurice Béjart, des clips musicaux et des films publicitaires. En 2003 son court métrage "Viandes" obtient le Grand prix du jury des jeunes au Festival International de Locarno.  En 2004, il participe à la création de "Eraritjaritjaka de Heiner Goebbles, concevant et réalisant la partie vidéo de ce spectacle extrêmement cinématographique où il réalise un plan séquence de trois quarts d'heure tourné en vidéo en direct chaque soir. Pendant plus de trois ans, il tourne dans le monde entier de New-York à Berlin en passant par Wellington en Nouvelle Zélande.  En 2006-2007, il crée, écrit et réalise en collaboration avec Léo Maillard la série courte "La minute kiosque" diffusée en prime time sur la TSR en 2007-2008.  En 2008, il collabore au spectacle documentaire "Airport Kids" avec Lola Arias et Stefan Kaegi du groupe berlinois Rimini Protokoll  Il est actuellement, avec CAB Productions, en cours d'écriture de son premier long métrage de fiction pour le cinéma pour lequel il a obtenu la bourse SSA d'encouragement à l'écriture de scénario.

Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)

While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).

Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
