From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Ali Zafar (born May 18, 1980 in Lahore, Pakistan) is a Pakistani musician, composer, song writer, singer, actor, painter and model, popular for his music and now movies. His popular numbers include his hits like "Channo", "Rangeen", "Chal Dil Merey", "Dekha", "Masty", "Jhoom", "Sajania", "Madhubala","voh dekhney mein", "Dastan-e-ishq" and "Yar Dhadhi Ishq". He started his singing career with the song "Jugnuon Se Bhar Le Aanchal" in the film Shararat, directed by Pakistani actress and director Samina Peerzada but made a big mark with his first single "Channo" from his first album "Huqa Pani" that sold more than seven million copies worldwide. The album turned out to be one of the biggest hits ever in Pakistan with "Channo" topping the charts all the way for a long time. Zafar made his acting debut in the 2010 Indian film Tere Bin Laden by director Abhishek Sharma.which became the biggest sleepers hit of the year and a cult classic propelling Zafar to a new dimension of stardom in Bollywood as an actor. His second movie Mere Brother Ki Dulhan again turned out to be a block buster taking him into a league of his own, followed by yet another hit London, Paris, New York marking Zafar as the first in Bollywood after Kishore Kumar to have become a successful and versatile actor, singer, composer, lyricist and music arranger all in one. While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:

  • I added "runners up" to Top 10 lists, treating them as ties where applicable and numbering them accordingly at the bottom of each list.
  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Regarding profile removals and data corrections:

  • If you would like your profile removed from this site, please contact the source of this data directly, TheMovieDB. My assumption is: once it's gone from their site, it should soon be gone from this site.

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
