Joey McFarland is an American film producer. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he attended the University of Louisville. In 2010, with producing partner Riza Aziz, McFarland co-founded Red Granite Pictures. McFarland oversees the company's day-to-day operations, its business divisions, personnel and all matters relating to Red Granite Pictures' film slate. Under his leadership, Red Granite has developed, produced and structured financing for a slate of films representing more than $600 million in revenue. In 2011 Variety named McFarland in their list of Top 10 Producers to Watch. McFarland's first production under the Red Granite banner was the hit romantic comedy Friends with Kids, written and directed by Jennifer Westfeldt. In 2012 McFarland went on to executive produce the dramatic thriller Out of the Furnace, directed by Scott Cooper and starring Christian Bale. Next McFarland produced The Wolf of Wall Street. The Wolf of Wall Street is based on Jordan Belfort's best-selling novel of the same name. The book was adapted into a screenplay by Terence Winter. The film was directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew Mcconaughey and Margot Robbie. Released on December 25, 2013 by Paramount Pictures, The Wolf of Wall Street achieved tremendous box office success and garnered critical acclaim - including a Golden Globe win for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy for Leonardo DiCaprio and five Academy Award nominations including Best Actor, Best Director and Best Picture for which McFarland received a nomination. In 2013 McFarland completed production on Horns, a supernatural thriller directed by Alexandre Aja and starring Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple. The film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Joe Hill and was released October 31, 2014 by Dimension-RADiUS. McFarland was also a producer on the sequel Dumb and Dumber To, directed by Pete and Bobby Farrelly, starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. It was released on November 14, 2014 by Universal Pictures. Dumb and Dumber To opened number one at the box office. Currently McFarland is an executive producer on the film Daddy's Home. Shooting in New Orleans, the film is being directed by Sean Anders and John Morris. It re-teams Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg for the first time since 2010. Red Granite Pictures is co-producing and co-financing the film with Paramount Pictures, in association with Gary Sanchez Productions. Paramount Pictures is also the worldwide distribution partner. McFarland's current development slate includes The Brigands of Rattleborge and The General. The Brigands of Rattleborge, the blacklist's number one script of 2006, is a western revenge story and The General is a gritty look at the story of George Washington. - IMDb Mini Biography

Most data and links to images for the Movies section come from TheMovieDB (TMDB).
Additional data for Film Titles come from The Open Movie Database (OMDb).
At least one plug-in comes from IMDb.
Data are -- hey, it's a plural -- subject to the limitations of their sources. (For example, TMDB search results currently max out at 20.) I am limiting myself to free data sources for now. (No, a "free trial" is not free.)
While much of the above data are retrieved directly from outside APIs and other such sources, data from American Film Institute (AFI) and British Film Institute (BFI) were manually entered the old fashioned way into a MySQL database. Re BFI I took the following liberties:
Regarding profile removals and data corrections:
Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
Whereas the overall purpose of this website is to serve as a personal demo/portfolio/workshop of web and data skills, this Movies section is not meant to compete with or substitute for far more definitive movie websites.
Whether or not he still clings to an award which he won in 1986 as a film critic for his college's newspaper, Jeffrey Hartmann is not responsible for the texts of overviews and biographies supplied by external data sources.
