Overview from Open Movies

Amy Lindel, who sang in the church choir until she went to the city to make a fortune with her voice, finds cabaret singing is the best she can do. She charms one man, is admired by another less honorable man who plants stolen diamonds on her. He then has the police break into her boyfriend's house in order to search Amy. But Amy, distraught with the thought of the threatened arrest and with the shame of being turned away from her boardinghouse, has thrown herself into a lake. Her sweetheart saves her, clears her name, and then makes her his wife.

  • Regarding those polls wherein "franchise" movies were submitted as one project until BFI's policy changed to regard them separately, I treated them as ties and renumbered the affected lists accordingly (e.g. the Godfather films).

Filtering is applied here to film projects flagged as "adult" by TheMovieDB. Pending "popular demand" I am contemplating a login and profile system with preferences (such as whether to allow adult images to appear) and permissions (such as data entry).
