a palimpsest is a manuscript put on top of a pre-existing document. to make room for the new piece, the original artifact would be scraped or washed off. this is an experimental documentary about unfettered urban industrialization. expressways overshadow heritage sites of ecological & communal significance to further sweep our environments under the reign of traffic. people live under slabs of concrete and wiring that only accumulate before they are forced out by the next mall. the images & sounds of the film layer on top of each other, parallel to how our built environment is in that continuous process of infrastructure covering up existing spaces over & over. why exactly must we scrape off so much to rush into the boundless noise of build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build build
